Ok, I am bias: I love both samurai films and westerns; actually, I live for them. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but this is the most fun I've had in a theater since 'Grindhouse' and it is meant to be fun/entertaining.
It is like a mixture of Sergio Leone and the "Lone Wolf and Cub" series. My dream is that Miike's film sparks an actual Sukiyaki genre like its spaghetti predecessor.
