In general I really like this kind of period pieces, I like both Kirstin Scott-Thomas and Michelle Williams but something just was not right in this. Not sure what it was, there were good germans, bad germans, missing husbands, collaborators, resistance, romance and suffering and it was based on a book actually written secretly during the war in occupied France.
Romantic, yes, one feels for the people, yes, but... still no English Patient!
