Review of Suicide Squad (2016) by Adam V — 11 Dec 2017
A guilty pleasure of mine, but I can't deny that this film is honestly horrible. Jared Leto's Joker is easily the worst portrayal of Joker, he served no purpose to the movie's plot and had approximately less than 10 minutes of screen time.
They obviously attempted to rip-off Guardians of the Galaxy with their soundtrack, but the music in this film does not fit or flow well with the scenes. Plus the film feels the need to spend nearly 20 minutes explaining the backstory of every member of the Suicide Squad.
Movie focuses way too hard on Harley Quinn and Deadshot and pretty much sidelines the rest. The dialogue is just horrible and cringe-inducing, especially when Rick introduces Katana to the group and Deadshot's "some sort of Suicide Squad" line.
The villain is so cheesy and horrible, they didn't even bother giving the villain proper development or motivations for their actions. This is the low point of the DCEU, even worse than Batman v Superman.
