Review of Suicide Squad (2016) by Riley H — 23 May 2017
It really saddens me that this film is thought to be so good by so many people. It uses so many tropes and manipulative plays to get people to think what they're watching is good cinema when in fact it's a very very weak movie with little to nothing going for it.
And the sad thing is: Suicide Squad and its characters have the potential to translate fantastically to screen. But, alas, we got an (often oddly acted) poorly filmed, pandering mess with no main character, no logic, no character arcs, very flimsy if not non-existent character motivations and a rendition of the Joker so far from the actual character I almost want to cry.
