Rewatching this a little while back, I can't help but feel that Suicide Squad just doesn't work as a standalone film. It just doesn't. The story's stupid, the direction is confused and the music is sloggy to say the least, and it's just shameless unrelenting fan-service with no substantial story to pay off for the viewers.
Bottomline: very disappointing piece from a disappointing year: 2016.
