Review of Suicide Squad (2016) by Kyle Matthew S — 28 Jan 2017
Suicide Squad would've been awesome if it followed what the trailers were telling us. The trailers told us it would be a fun movie with great characters and an entertaining Joker that appears many times in the film.
What we got was a boring movie with cringe-worthy characters and an atrocious Joker that has about 3 minutes of screen time in the film. Not to mention the worst villain I've ever seen in a superhero movie, one of the worst plots I've ever seen in a superhero movie, tons of plot holes that make Signs look plausible, and characters who are supposed to be dirty criminals who end up being cool and "not so bad" human beings.
The only redeeming qualities that save this movie from total awfulness are a neat soundtrack, a few good shots, and fantastic makeup and costume design. Besides that, Suicide Squad is the worst superhero movie since Batman and Robin.
Yeah. I said it.
