Whereas Marvel has succeeded in creating a compelling cinematic universe, DC has failed to do the same. Suicide Squad serves as an exemplar of why DC films continue to be panned by critics. Throughout this movie, David Ayer prioritizes flash-bang special effects over proper character development and immersive story-telling.
It is Batman v. Superman all over again.
