Review of Suicide Squad (2016) by Peter L — 24 Feb 2018
The only reason why I'm giving this movie a full star is because Will Smith always delivers. Other than that, this was arguably the worst movie ever made. The plot makes no sense and at times contradicts itself, the editing is as if someone was carrying 5 boxes of puzzles and tripped, and just put all the pieces back in different boxes.
Jared Leto's joker was the worst performance I have ever seen; if you have to literally write it on your forehead for the audience to see, you're doing it wrong. His joker was like that totally unoriginal kid who always wears a fedora, who somehow got invited to the Halloween party and came as Heath Ledger's joker and wouldn't drop the annoyingly bad impersonation all night.
The character of Flag should be shamed for Stolen Valor for that performance. Just because it's an attempt to complete with Disney doesn't make it good. If you want to waste your time go watch paint dry, at least it has a more satisfying result.
