Review of Suicide Club (2001) by Brett C — 15 Oct 2007
What happens when suicide becomes the new fad in Japan? This movie is pretty disturbing in parts, suicide isn't pretty, but at the same time it keeps you on the edge of your seat not wanting to look away.
This movie is a great example of why I like Japanese movies so much, they take a concept that Hollywood would have made cheesy and formulaic, and instead make an unpredictable horror/thriller/mindf*ck.
And if you are like me then the mindf*ck is the best part about film. So if you like Japanese horror, you should def check this flick out. I would also recommend it to fans of surrealistic film. (aka David Lynch, Luis Brunel).
