Review of Suicide Club (2001) by Mike P — 18 Feb 2008
This movie is highly disturbing, and I absolutely loved it. There are a lot of questions asked, and not a lot of answers given. My best theory regarding the suicides in this movie is that the Japanese people feel like their culture is starting to value their lives less and less.
If you don't love yourself, and only live to serve others, committing suicide is not a big deal. The little j-pop group Dessart is also disturbing on many levels, especially since their average age is 12.
5. This movie is definitely not for people with sensitive stomachs. I've seen lots of gore, but this is on another level. Overall, it is highly recommended, though.
