Review of Sugar (2008) by Bob M — 20 Sep 2009

For the purpose of full disclosure, I love baseball. There is no other sport that comes close. But Sugar is more than baseball. It is about chasing your dream. It is about sacrifice in the pursuit of success.

It is about getting one shot at the big time and what you do with it. This movie was very absorbing both in its content, the wonderful filming and the heartwarming characters that kept you involved until the final credits that I felt came way too soon.

I would rate this as one of the best films I have seen in 2009. In keeping with the baseball theme, this movie hit a home run. One in which you don't throw the ball back onto the field but keep it in a place of honor on your trophy case.
