While Sugar does not bill itself as being based on a true story, any baseball fan knows that it could be based on thousands of true stories. Young talented players in the poorest parts of Central America using baseball as a means to fame and fortune.
But what all too many of these young men realize that there is often a big difference between the American Dream and the American reality.
