Review of Sugar (2008) by Dean S — 20 Feb 2010
A young man from the Dominican Republic comes to America and is recruited to play in the minor leagues in the Midwest, he has trouble adapting to the culture and feels very out of place. The movie did a poor job of portraying his baseball career and was slow in moving in portraying his personnel life.
It did make me realize what foreign athletes go though when they come to America to play sports, they are away from their family and friends and in a whole different world. This movie was slow, easy to predict but worth watching but barely.
