Joseph l. mankiewicz shines when it comes to getting phenomenal performances from his actors. particularly katharine hepburn and elizabeth taylor in the instance of "suddenly, last summer". the dialogue and performances will keep you engaged through out the entire film, or at least most of it.
the movie does feel like it might be around ten minutes too long, but considering how good most of it is, it doesn't feel too much of a problem.
