Review of Sudden Death (1995) by Eric H — 31 Dec 2008
I watched this movie expecting strictly B-grade fare. I didn't realize how tongue-in-cheek it was. Filmed exactly in the style of "Die Hard," the script by Quintano and Baldwin contains some of the most intentionally hilarious plot points I have ever witnessed.
Van Damme plays a disgraced fire fighter who not only has to prove himself professionally, but also on the hockey rink. And astoundingly, the fate of the hostages is tied to the score of the hockey game.
Recommended for fans of goofy action flicks on the basis of the star's fight with the Penguin's mascot alone.
