Review of Sudden Death (1995) by Adam A — 27 Mar 2013
As far as "Die Hard" knockoffs go, "Sudden Death" is pretty decent. Hyams has a good eye for visuals, so everything looks nice, and the setting - a hockey game - is creative and fun.
Plus, it one ups the "Die Hard" series in one very significant way: Five movies in and John McClane still hasn't gone fists-to-face with a transvestite in a penguin suit. "Sudden Death" check marks that box in the first 30 minutes.
