Review of Sucker Punch (2011) by Drm — 26 Mar 2011
Sucker Punch was not a terrible film, but it really wasn't great either. It is very pretty to look at. It's packed full of attractive ladies, and weapons, monsters, all done in Legendary's awesome artistic styling.
The plot, however, feels like a video game, punctuated with every chick revenge film cliche in the book. Jena Malone, Scott Glenn, and Jon Hamm were certainly fun in this. I had incredibly low expectations for this film.
I just wanted to see women with huge racks hurting people with swords and guns. On that level, it totally delivered, but it's hardly a cinematic masterpiece.
