Review of Sucker Punch (2011) by David M — 13 Aug 2014
Like a collection of high action short stories, loosely strung together with a plot about a brothel/asylum/"Gentleman's Club" that plays like a videogame. That's not to say that I hated it.
I actually loved this movie. The plot outside of the "mini-movies" is hardly there, and most of the time it has little to do with the action sequences. Most of it came together at the end, and I was surprised to see some drama outside of the fantasies.
The end wasn't perfect, but it was good enough to make you think. The only problem with that, is that after the movie you'll be distracted by the kickass action parts too much to remember the actual story.
