A depressing, sleepy, and confusing fantasy-in-a-fantasy. Everything seems so wrong, with the overly sexual tones and dark parallels. The fantasy segments play out like a series of music videos, which just adds to the incoherency.
The film does offer some fun action, spectacular effects, and a eerie coldness, but it leaves you feeling dim and unsure.
