Review of Sucker Punch (2011) by Bora H — 19 Jan 2013
No real plot. It tries for Inception-like levels of reality, but ultimately it just makes no sense. Girls in perfect makeup and fetish clothing fight in anime-style battles. No characters that you can really identify with. Really, in fact, no characters, just cartoon girls with cliché lines. You just don't get emotionally involved.
That said, the computer graphics are really good, especially if anime and steampunk appeal to you. It might be worth renting if you have a high-definition flatscreen TV and you just have it on low volume while you and friends talk about other things.
