Review of Sucker Punch (2011) by Brian R — 14 Nov 2012

It's a ridiculous story and way more convoluted than it needs to be... but this movie was never about the story. The story is just a flimsy vehicle for the awesome visuals and general chick-badassery that is happening on-screen.

And that's totally okay. This movie doesn't try to be more than it is, and that is what makes it awesome. Also, I love Snyder's use of music in this film... it's more of a 2 hour music video than a movie, but it totally works.

I haven't seen a director use music so effectively since Tarantino.
