Review of Subway (1985) by Tim C — 09 Feb 2007
Absolute classic. It's in French (don't bother with any dubbed version) but that just adds to it.
The story is a bit naff on it's own, but the way Luc Besson has made this film - it's absolutely brilliant.
The music (by Eric Serra) is excellent, and it fits the film - eg when the scene changes you get a busker who is actually playing the background music !!
Also, if you're a bass player, you'll love the music as Eric Serra is both a bass player and plays the part of the bass player in the film. One of the few film soundtracks that actually makes a good album - and it's nearly all instrumental.
