Review of Suburbicon (2017) by Kathryn C — 27 Oct 2017
*Contains spoilers * Very very good. Don't see why all the bad press. Was never bored; thought the two storylines meshed together well as a juxtaposition of two kinds of subversive evil present in a superficially decent and picture postcard place, one unabashed community condoned reprehensible behaviour, another hidden and unquestioned depths of depravity as carried out by apparently respectable everyday people.
Sure it was dark but delivered in typical Clooney / Coen deadpan satire with an obvious love for portraying the period. Great ending of innocence and hope. Thought it was one of the best movies have seen this year.
Don't listen to the naysayers - go see it and make up your own mind.
