Today was just a lovely day. I woke up at 1:30, felt like I pissed off half of the day and headed straight for the computer. My friend called at 2 and said to meet her and a couple of our other friends at the beach. I called another friend, but he couldn't go. So I ventured to the beach alone. Ten minutes later I arrive and could not find a parking spot. I called my friend and she said that our other friends had left the beach and that she was coming. I had limited time, so I said forget it and headed back home.

On the way home I passed a cop going the opposite way and I slowed down. Why did I slow down even though he was going the other way? Because I am a really paranoid person when it comes to cops. For some reason, whenever I see one, I feel guilty of something and put on an innocent face. It is instinctual. Anyway, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw that he was turning around. Then I got all worried for no reason. I told myself that I wasn't doing anything wrong. The cop was out of view. Then, out of nowhere I see red lights in my rearview mirror. Shit. Yup, I got pulled over. I was speeding. Oh well. It wasn't my first time. I got pulled over last February at 12:30 and going 14 miles over the speed limit. I didn't get a ticket then, and I didn't get a ticket today. It must be because I am just so charming and polite. I'm sure my PBA card didn't hurt either. My uncle is one of the head chiefs at Port Authority and I must thank him very much next time I see him.

I watched subUrbia today and I can't decide which is the weaker Linklater, subUrbia or School of Rock. The movie was still decent, it just got a little too heavy handed at the end, which is too bad seeing as how I loved the cast and the premise. Linklater's trademark style is there and the movie is at its best when it focuses on the characters and their thoughts and philosophies on life (no matter how pseudo-intellectual they may sound at times). It tries to say something about the wastes of life who just hang around after high school, but we have heard it all before. And it has been done better.

I've been watching the Olympics at 2:30 in the morning. That seems like the best time to watch them. Heh. Congrats to everyone who has been totally kicking ass, namely Michael Phelps.

I'm going into the city tomorrow. I'm meeting my brother and his girlfriend in there and we are going to see We Don't Live Here Anymore. Hopefully I'll be able to talk them into seeing something else also. I am staying over in my brothers new apartment, so I won't be on tomorrow night.

Talk to you kiddies on Thursday.
