Review of Suburban Commando (1991) by Nick O — 21 Jun 2008
With the exception of The Rock wrestlers should not act. Despite the fact they play "characters" when they wrestle their acting abilities are lame. The Rock pulls it off. He's actually quite good.
There's also the fact that he takes it seriously. Hulk doesn't. Here he an idiot from space who become a small suburban family's own personal body gaurd. He tries being overly cute which make me want to puke.
Every time I see or even think of this movie I wonder why Christopher Lloyd is in it. Did he need the money that bad? He's a good actor ith comic genious whose talents are wasted here. All in all it's crap.
Fun at times but still crap.
