Review of Suburban Commando (1991) by Jim G — 14 Feb 2011
Just as hokey and formulaically awful as you'd expect, but it never quite reaches that bizarre point where it can transcend its terribleness in a fun cult movie kind of way. Already a goofy personality, Hulk Hogan still somehow manages to embarrass himself.
Christopher Lloyd and a Bill Murray-channeling Larry Miller do what they can with the weak material, but Shelly Duvall is wasted in a nothing role. A few small moments of amusing oddness is not enough to make it watchable for any real reason.
