Review of Submarine (2011) by Ben R — 02 Nov 2011
Submarine was ultimately a teen love story that dealt with depression, the struggle of staying and being in love, and did this with wit, dark humor, and the portrayal of how the protagonist dealt with it all.
It was slow at times but it's originality and clever wit kept me interested, depressed, happy, and warm-hearted all bundled into one. It reminded me somewhat of a Wes Anderson movie due to it's artistic cinematography and the humor in family dysfunction, which all who have grown up in this day in age can relate to.
