Review of Submarine (2011) by Mathew V — 15 Jan 2012

I can see a lot of myself in this character. I haven't been through the exact same situations but the coming of age story involving a bad relationship where the main character acted like a douchebag being a teenager sounds spot-on.

I also think the quiet, over-thinking, introverted part of the character feels like me as well. The bad things he does do are to impress a friend or a girl - exemplifying how I look back on the stupid things I did or said to people.

This movie made me think. It isn't perfect - I'm not sure about the ending for example, and some of the editing left me a little confused but still a good movie.
