Review of Submarine (2011) by Erwin U — 30 Jan 2012
â~Submarineâ(TM)s no. 1 charm is its young and cool treatment.
I see â~Rushmoreâ(TM) (1998) in Submarine specifically with the leads but definitely not a knock off. The difference is that the latter has more to say when it comes to its dramatic aspects than being reliant with its humor. I also want to give props with the narration which is definitely effective, though, it doesnâ(TM)t really quite work when you want to be sympathetic with the protagonist. I love the soundtrack as well. Collaborating with Alex Turnerâ(TM)s lyrics is very smart in giving special moments a lasting impression when you only have the tracks to deal with.
FYI: itâ(TM)s actually an adaptation of a same titled novel by Joe Dunthorne (which I havenâ(TM)t read and not really much to concern about).
