Review of Sublime (2007) by Christy R — 31 Jan 2008
This has gotta be the most mislabeled film of the year. "Sublime??" Only if you enjoy extended torture-scenes intercut with...people walking, birds flying, or some deeply symbolic nothing going on, somewhere else.
Think "Jacob's Ladder" meets MTV meets out-takes from Abu Ghraib. If they made a subgenre for this sort of film, they'd call it "hospital-torture-porn." I gave it 2 stars because of the quality production values and good acting, alone.
Now, after watching this drech: I feel like I really need to take a shower. "Sublime," indeed.
