When I went into this movie, I don't know if I was supposedly having low or high expectations. It seems now that this is another one of those movies that sound good on paper, but not good when it comes to being executed.

I believe that the plot for this film was very different from most other films, so I was hoping that the writers were able to handle it well. Unfortunately, this is a movie that relies more on the comedy than it's unique plot. From what it seems like when it comes to the humor, the jokes were really hit or miss. Some jokes worked really well, and some jokes didn't feel like it belonged, or perpetuated the story.

The beginning starts with a fight scene, and it is pretty underwhelming. It didn't really feel special from other action films, especially when it comes to the main antagonist. When he was put into hand to hand scenarios, he felt like a wannabe Bruce Lee impersonator. When Dave's character's partner gets shot, it's seems that she dies from it, but they never bring it up again. It feels that you forget about his partner a few minutes later because people are too busy laughing from mediocre comedy.

Eventually, Dave gets blind, and has to where a set of glasses for his vision to get better. I see no reason this had to be here other than to create comedy. Then again, this comedy could've came along without the glasses. But on the other hand, it'd make Dave's character look like a dumbass. I guess this means it isn't necessary for it to be there.

Then Stu comes in. His character was pretty atrocious. His self conflict was that he wants five star reviews on Uber, but constantly gets one star reviews. And if that wasn't enough, he is also afraid to tell this girl that he likes her and wants to have sex. What makes it works is it's execution.

So many things are done wrong. Characters are mediocre at best, the plot is super lackluster, fight scenes either rely on the comedy, or are poorly executed. The conflict between the two characters aren't done well. See it if you'd like, but I probably wouldn't see it again.
