Review of Stroszek (1977) by Nathan B — 09 Apr 2007
It's like this horrible series of unfortunate events which occur are meant to be a critical indictment of the american dream. it's a metaphor.
It's still hard to watch.
Anyway, I could pick up on all that, but I liked it because it was bizarre in parts, without seeming contrived. and the lead actors face wins you over. I can't believe ian curtis watched this before he died. I want the last movie I see before I die to make me heave with laughter. not whimper with defeat. maybe if he was watching something else he would still be alive.
