Review of Stronger (2017) by Francisco Q — 28 Dec 2017
Despite its "feel good movie" status, "Stronger" proves that it can be still made movies about tragedies like the 2013 Boston Marathon attacks. Jake Gyllenhaal gives an Oscar-worthy performance here, but it isn't quite enough for reaching the statue.
He is spetacular as usual, but it isn't as good as his portrayal in "Nightcrawler". Miranda Richardson and Tatiana Maslany are great as well. In the end, "Stronger" is a good movie with strong moments of emotion and tragedy, despite all the unnecessary exposition and moments of glorification.
