Review of Stronger (2017) by Tom C — 07 Oct 2017
Tough Powerful Moments.
First, is shock, coming to terms w what happened. The powerful life change. Family, is mostly good, typically dysfunctional but w a good heart. But finally, it is about Jeff overcoming his own self pity. He had the easy route, to self denial, everything was too hard, a victim, drifting to the easy path of victimhood. Erin, is conflicted, her guilt and her love. Boy no easy answers in this powerful movie, of a devastating loss, and how others , wishing to be there, remain conflicted. Lotsa of Tears in this movie, not so much about the sadness of such an event, but more about how conflicted Jeff and Erin are, as they have been thrown into a world event, it changes them both. From being carefree towards their future life, to now being burdened by real life hardships and responsibilities. Carlos, played the messenger, who gave a message, of what is still possible, still, after you have lost everything. Erin, I thought , in her own quiet way, stole the movie, her eyes, and her silence, was the pillar in a movie about life chaos and conflict.
