Review of Stripes (1981) by Jack S — 25 Jul 2008
An insult to Warren Oates, whose character seems to vanish halfway through, apparently after an injury of some sort. Truthfully speaking, Warren probably realised what he had let himself in for. Actually starts off quite decent, then as soon as the senior officer utters the notorious 1980s line ".
.these are exactly the kind of men I need..." you know its time to check out Ceefax instead. An early turkey from the now painfully ubiquitous and overrated Murray, while Ivan Reitman is without doubt one of the most overhyped directors ever.
