Review of Stripes (1981) by Jose M — 08 Dec 2011
Stripes is a comedic film with be all you can be film with funny cynical Bill Murray as a slacker that joins the army to meet girls. There are a number of funny scenes thanks to the brilliant writing and timing along with some big surprises.
Anyways, John Winger (Murray) and Russell (Harold Ramis) decide that life sucks, so letâ(TM)s join so it will not suck anymore. The guys are set in a platoon of misfits (one of them John Candy), drill instructor Sgt.
Hulka, and the inept/incompetent Captain Stillman (John Larroquette). They then start to do their basic training which shows how really bad the guys are and the film turns into a laughing riot. Stripes is a wonderful and funny film worth watching with PJ Soles and Sean Young as two hot MPs that provide a lot of laughs.
