Review of Stripes (1981) by Joe B — 05 Mar 2011
Being a huge fan of the 1980s in general, especially the comedys (anything from John Hughes, Ivan Reitman, Bill Murray etc.), i'm ashamed to say I've only just got round to seeing this film now.
And like most films from the 80s, it doesn't dissapoint. It seems a little bit like an old episode of the Phil Silvers show towards the end, and with all the unnecessary explosions at the end, it seems like its not sure whether it wants to be a comedy film, a caper film, or an action movie.
But watching Bill Murray in every scene is a pleasure, and its nice to see how Ghostbusters came about. Also, the unexpected female nudity was certainly a plus point.
