Review of Strings (2015) by Nick T — 22 Oct 2007
Never less than gorgeous to look at and, at times, almost Shakesperian in its narrative 'Strings' was sadly less successful than the other puppet movie 'Team America' Though both were fantastic entertainment 'Strings' to me was by far superior.
Set in a reality that fully acknowledges the characters as puppets and using their characteristics, especially their strings, as a part of the ongoing story the puppeteers involved should be celebrated for achieving such a technical miracle.
Certain scenes, the battle at the end remains a high point, will have you questioning whether puppeteering can get any more accomplished and you will be literally swept away by this fantastic movie. A true original.
