Review of Strings (2004) by Jean-Francois V — 03 Jun 2008
Puppet movies are much too rare as a genre and every time I get a chance to see one, I take it (I've just bought a copy of "Legend of the Sacred Stone" and I am desperately looking for bunraku DVDs.).
This one is a bit cold and uninvolving, but its has an interesting premise (the puppets are actually creatures that are brought to life by strings from heaven) and is visually inventive.
I might like it better on second viewing, but the first time was a bit boring.
