Review of Strictly Sexual (2008) by Evan K — 20 Feb 2010
Found this one on Hulu. I really like it, surprisingly, it was recommended rightfully so. The plot was simple and fun, the characters were very believable and nothing really didn't work for me. I take off a star because the quality was low and in the end there is no great emotional value, just the story- but the film self references that fact.
My favorite part about the film was the acting wasn't acting, it seemed real. Acting is never realistic, it is only natural, and the goal of good acting it to express the dramatic moment with out betraying the emotional limits of reality- what I mean by this is that it acting captures both the phenomenon and experience.
This is not to say all acting is at the same level, but within the confines of my proposed theory. The acting in this film bordered realistic in more of a way than most acting would even try to.
