Review of Strictly Ballroom (1992) by Suzy C — 15 Nov 2007

I did not enjoy this movie as much as I had hoped. But perhaps I was simply overhyping the fact that it's a Baz Luhrman film and was let down due to comically high expectations. Some pretty cool dance moves, especially the scenes shot from roof tops to Cyndi Lauper tunes.

I didn't find it particularly engaging though... nor did I find it particularly funny, which leads me to wonder what it was doing in the comedy section of Classic Video. Took me forever to find. A film worth seeing but not particularly memorable.
