Review of Strictly Ballroom (1992) by Jessica E — 02 Aug 2008
Frum movie about dancing and being true to yourself. What made this movie great for me is that Fran, the female lead, really undergoes a transformation. Honestly, she was really plain-looking in the beginning and by the end learns how to make her beauty show.
Also, its a film about dancing but there is this subtext of Australia's immigrant population, as seen through Fran and her family. Really great moments of over-the-top hilarity and touching romance.
