Review of Strictly Ballroom (1992) by Stephen C — 25 Oct 2008
I got this because I wanted my wife to see a pre Moulin Rouge Baz film. I actually like it quite a bit -- its put together pretty tightly and some of the filming techniques are distinctly Baz. Plus, I like that the heroine is not as conventionally beautiful as they are in today's hollywood films with the "put the hot girl in glasses and say she's ugly until the reveal" conceit.
