This off-beat charmer from Australia marked the feature debut of director Baz Luhrmann. The story follows a young man's quest for individual expression through ballroom dancing albeit using his own style.
The characters are thoroughly likable while the movie is refreshingly free of Luhrmann's later indulgences. A small winner.
