Review of Streets of Fire (1984) by Aiman T — 01 Oct 2007
Excellent movie all around. was one of the first movies I ever saw in the US and stayed with me for a long time because of the great backgrounds and music. The story is not much but it was not meant to be the backbone of the movie.
The real material of the movie is backgrounds out of some old rock and roll dreams mixed with biker gangs, chrome, steal and endless night. The entire movie was shot in a night setting, they even covered the part of Universal Studios in dark tarps just so they can shoot in the day time pretending it was night.
The music bands are real and the music is real. Willem Dafoe is intense as the bad guy The ending song is one of the best even though the vocal is a computer mix of 3 very different voices and a young Diane Lane who looked even a whole lot hotter then.
