Review of Street Trash (1987) by Chad F — 25 Nov 2009
There really should have been a lot more melting hobos then there really were.
If this were a Troma movie (where it would fit right in) it would be considered one of their best. Right up there with the original Toxic Avenger or Class of Nuke Em High.
I think this movie would have been a little better off as an 80 minute feature rather than 105 minutes but thats just me.
A nice cast of satisfying over-actors. They all give DARING performances if you want to call it that...
There should have been a lot more Viper coming into play - we never learn any of the history of it or why it's killing people. Also, I feel like the majority of the events going on throughout the body of the movie have absolutely nothing to do with the Viper or the people who died from it. The lethal drink is supposed to be the focus of the entire plot but somehow it isn't given nearly enough attention in the long run.
I was satisfied with the ending. And I can't say I ever really expected to see a HOT POTATO PENIS scene in a horror movie...
Worth seeing if you're a trash art fan...otherwise no.
