The only reason this disgusting movie doesn't get the dreaded half star rating (the lowest possible rating on 90 Lost Minutes) is because the end is amusing. Quite literally this has to be the most unwholesome, vile film I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong either. I like dark comedies, heck Heathers is one of my favorite movies, but this is just way past the point of being wrong.
The story goes like this ... Liquor store dude finds a crate in his basement filled with a drink called Viper. He immediately decides to sell the drink without any knowledge of it's contents or even what it is. A whole lot of "street trash" bums come in and buy bottles of Viper for $1 with disastrous results. One of the bums brings a mobster's girlfriend back to the junkyard where she's raped and murdered by the homeless personages. These actions force a corrupt inner city cop to answer to the mob and thus begins the rounding up of bums. The story ends with a madcap death spree which is really the only reason to watch this movie.
Ok, I know what you're thinking. You think I'm judging this movie unfairly. No I'm not. It's really disgusting. It's more than just the nasty special effects too. It's the way that the disturbing thoughts are presented that bothers me. For example, there is a scene where a man's wedding tackle gets clearly sliced off with a knife. As if that wasn't bad enough the "slicer" and his friends decide that it would be funny to play keep away with it, preventing the "slicee" from retrieving his most valuable part. I guess if they had been a little more light hearted with that scene MAYBE I could've found it funny. There's stuff like that throughout the movie though. Like the scene where one of the better characters tries out necrophilia. All it did was remind me of The Dark Backward.
All that aside, if your brain is segmented enough to do that, it is still a pretty bad movie. It plods along at a snails pace and there really isn't anyone to cheer for. It's just the dregs of society, living their strange lives at a junkyard, killing each other, and drinking Viper.
I would strongly suggest watching only the last 5 minutes of this movie. You won't really miss much and you'll see the best part.
Why did I watch this movie in the first place? The trailer is not half bad and it was recommended to me.
