Review of Street Kings (2008) by Deb S — 06 Dec 2009
This is a gritty story about corruption in the Police force that takes place in L.A. The lead character is Keanu Reeves, an undercover veteran LAPD Vice Detective who sets out on a quest to discover the killers of his former partner. Reeves teams up with a young Homicide Detective Chris Evans to track down his partner's killers. Forrest Whitaker was great and gives an awesome supporting performance as Wander. Hugh Laurie was also terrific and Amaury Nolasco from Prison break is also in this one.
If you like a real testosterone fast-paced, rough and tumble pull-no-punches cop thriller, with some riveting shoot em' up scenes, a juicy story that will leave you on the edge of your seat, then this is the one for you.
My favorite line: "Why don't you do the department a favor and clean your mouth out with a buck-shot.".
