Review of Street Kings (2008) by Graham C — 03 Sep 2009
The story's alright, the characters are pretty typical, but the introductions are amazing. Keanu Reeves comes in being racist until some thugs beat him up and take his car. At which point he goes to their hideout, shoots everyone up, and rescues the girls.
But not before he puts on the gloves and finds and replants a couple extra guns to make it look like everyone else shot first. Then there's Hugh Laurie, famous for his role as Dr. House. His character is introduced in a hospital, pulling back a curtain rudely much as House would, and speaking with an almost sarcastically fake friendliness - much as House would.
Love it. Plus, Jay Mohr with a bad moustache. What more do you really need?
