Review of Street Kings (2008) by Prince L — 22 Sep 2009
Vice Cop Tom Ludlow is the last of the Ghetto Gunfighters, a cop whose not afraid of going rogue to deliver a bullet laden brand of justice, even if it has given him a drinking problem. When Tom's ex partner is gunned down before he can spill the Vice units deeds to Internal Affairs Tom investagates and discovers a tangled web of corruption.
David Ayers LA is Shit #4. Seriously the mans movies (Dark Blue, Training Day, Harsh Times and this) have probably put a dent in the cities tourist trade. That said this is a deceint cop thriller with a kick ass cast, Forest Whitaker, Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans, Jay Mohr, The Game. All give good performances as does Amaury Nolasco (who was the best thing in Max Payne) man has a career as a bad guy ahead of him, playes his cards right and if theres any justice he could be leading man. Actually he prolly should have been given Keanu Reeves role as Ludlow. Course Ludlowe is so shit stupid it may help that Ted plays him (seriously he's told whats going down at least 5 times threw out the film but is surprised at the end). Deceint cop thriller that turns out better then it has a right too. Defeinitly one too see if your a guy.
